What are "Sessions"?
Sessions let you block apps, app categories, or websites during your preferred time slots. Whether you want to sleep better, focus, or keep your phone from interrupting special moments, Jomo is here to support you!
The free version of Jomo only allows you to add one session. Upgrade to Jomo plus to add an unlimited number of sessions!
How do I add a session?
Go to "Rules > Sessions ". Press "+" OR start from one of our many available templates.
Here's a brief overview of the most popular templates:
🪴 Deep Work: Allows you to block one or more apps for a short time. Perfect for a work or revision session!
🧠 Conscious Use: Allows you to permanently block one or more apps of your choice. To use it, you'll need to enter a reason and a duration.
🌞 Mindful Morning: Allows you to block one or more apps from waking you up. Perfect for a hassle-free, screen-free start to the day.
💻 Work Time (Morning / Afternoon): Allows you to block one or more apps on work time, just to be more productive.ve.
🔌 Right To Disconnect : This session aims to respond to the Loi Travail 2016 (French Law 🇫🇷), "[Companies will have the duty to implement instruments to regulate the digital tool. These measures will aim to ensure respect for rest and vacation times, as well as the balance between work and personal and family life](https://travail-emploi.gouv.fr/archives/archives-courantes/loi-travail-2016/les-principales-mesures-de-la-loi-travail/article/droit-a-la-deconnexion)". This session thus makes it easy to block professional applications and tools on "Repos" schedules.
💤 Wind Down: Allows you to block one or more apps for the night, to avoid scrolling for hours on end.
📟 Brick Phone Mode: Allows you to block all the apps on your phone, leaving access only to essential apps (phone, messages, etc.).
🔞 Block Adult Content: Allows you to block all adult content.
If none of these methods has convinced you, or if you'd like to create your own session, you can also press the "+" button at the bottom of the screen, then "Start a blocking session " or "Schedule a blocking session ".
Setting up a session
Blocked apps : These are all the applications or sites you wish to block.
Session type: There are three session formats: immediate, scheduled or continuous.
⏳Duration: Choose the length of time you wish to block apps. Once added, it will start automatically.
🗓️ Scheduled: Choose the time slot during which you wish to block apps, and blocking will start automatically at the scheduled start time. If you set a time range that includes the current time (for example, from 9am to 5pm and it's 3pm), blocking will start immediately).
♾️ Permanent: The session will be permanently active. Note that Strict Mode is not available on Permanent sessions.
Strict Mode : Once activated, it will be impossible to bypass the session while it is active.
Breaks: You can enable or disable the ability to take breaks. If enabled, you'll be able to: choose a maximum (or unlimited) number of breaks, the maximum time allowed for each break, and a small exercise if you wish (intention or password).
Create your own session template (for now or for later)
Click on "Session templates ", then on the small grey "+" in the top right-hand corner.
Set up your template as you wish: blocked apps, duration, breaks, ... !
How do I know if a session is in progress?
When a session starts, the status of the card on the Jomo interface updates to show an "Active" badge, accompanied by a progress bar indicating the time remaining before the end of the session. For easy access to your sessions from the home screen, you can install our free widget.
How do I delete a session?
Go to the "Rules" section of Jomo, then "Sessions".
Tap on the session you wish to delete.
Scroll to the bottom of the screen and press "Delete session ". It will take 6 seconds before the option is available. Then press the button.
