[Mac App] What is a Jomo Session on Mac?

With Jomo Sessions, you can block websites and apps for the times you set. You can start a session for a fixed duration or schedule it to recur on specific days. Sessions can help you limit distractions during work hours, unplug from work apps at day's end, or turn off screens before bedtime.

The free version of Jomo only allows you to add one session. Upgrade to Jomo Plus to add multiple sessions!

How do I add a session?

Open Jomo Mac

Go to the "Sessions" tab.

Get started by selecting one of our templates, or start from scratch by pressing "Start session" or "Schedule session".

Setting up a session

Icon & Title: Customize your session by changing its name and icon.

Blocked apps and websites: Choose the websites and apps you wish to block with this session.

Strict Mode: In strict mode, Jomo makes it harder to bypass your blocking session when it is currently blocking apps and websites. Once enabled, you will no longer be able to quit the Jomo app and you will not be able to delete the session while it's active. This setting is not to be taken lightly. Its activation is your sole responsibility.

Breaks: You can enable or disable the possibility of taking breaks. If enabled, you will be able to temporarily unlock blocked apps and websites. A great way to use them more consciously.

Timing: There are three options: immediate, scheduled or always on.

⏳ Immediate: Choose the duration for which you wish to block apps. Once added, it will start automatically.
🗓️ Scheduled: Choose the time slot during which you wish to block apps. Blocking will start automatically at the scheduled start time.* If you set a time range that includes the current time (for example, from 9am to 5pm and it's 3pm), blocking will start immediately.**
♾️ Always on: The session will be permanently active. Please note that Strict Mode is not available on always on sessions.

How do I know if a session is running?

When a session starts, the card status on the Jomo interface updates to show an "Active " badge, accompanied by a progress bar indicating the time remaining before the end of the session.

How do I delete a session?

Go to the "Sessions " tab

Click on the session card

Scroll to the bottom of the screen and press "Delete session ".
