My limit is not displaying the correct usage time

Is your time limit not working or has it stopped working? We're here to help.

Time limits rely on the data sent back to us by Screen Time, and sometimes this communication can be a little temperamental. But we've anticipated common problems and found solutions that work in 99% of cases.

⚠️ Please follow the steps in order. If your problem persists, please contact us. If your problem persists, we invite you to contact us. In this case, we ask you to tell us in detail what the problem is, and to provide us with screenshots to help us understand the situation.

🔄 Refresh rule

A frequent problem is that the time calculation stops. The rule no longer seems to count time spent on applications or websites. You need to restart the system manually:

Open the blocking rule, then scroll down.
Press “Refresh condition”.
Repeat the operation if it doesn't work the first time.

✂️ Disable sharing between devices

Has your rule blocked your app or site even though you haven't spent the specified time on it? It's possible that this time is coming from another Apple device in your possession. To fix this issue, it's important to disable the “Share between devices” option:

Open your iPhone Settings
Go to Screen Time, then at the very bottom, deactivate the “Share between devices” option.

Please note that changes will only take effect the following day.

🔌 Reconnect Jomo to Screen Time.

Experiencing frequent problems? It's time to refresh the connection between Screen Time and Jomo:

Open this link on your iPhone or iPad
Accept the authorization request, by pressing “Continue”, then “Authorize”.
Then check that your limit has been reset. If it hasn't, you can retry the first step (“Refresh rule”).

🛠️ Frequent problems?

We rely on Apple to notify Jomo when usage hits a set limit (1 min, 2 min, 3 min, etc.). Most of the time, they do, but sometimes they don't or do it incorrectly. Not knowing the time left or spent, limits just stops working.

To fix this problem, we've introduced an alternative method of calculating time. It's more reliable, and reduces the problem of unaccounted-for time. To activate it, please follow these instructions:

Open your blocking rule
At the bottom, in the “More” section, deactivate the “Monitor real time usage” option.
Confirm, then refresh your rule

🧪 Why are limits marked as “Beta”?

We are aware of the various technical bugs that can occur in the limits. We do our utmost to correct them and offer you alternative solutions. Nevertheless, some of these errors are due to technical malfunctions in the Screen Time technology provided by Apple.

We prefer to be transparent with our users and display the “Beta” mention while waiting for a definitive fix from Apple.
