How to remove "Restricted" from my apps?

You Set a Blocking Rule with Jomo, and "Restricted Access" Appears Even Though This App Wasn't Affected? Here's the Explanation!

To keep it simple and short: by blocking certain domains or subdomains, you prevent some services from functioning properly. And since it doesn’t have all the necessary elements, your phone decides to block it and automatically displays "Restricted Access."

‎ ‎

📱 Which Apps Are Usually Affected?

Meta Services: Messenger, Facebook, Instagram, WhatsApp
Audio Streaming Services: Spotify, YouTube Music, Amazon Music
Video Streaming/Shopping Services: Amazon, Prime

This issue can be easily resolved; here's how:

Go to the rule that is blocking the content.
Go to "Apps and Sites."

(If it concerns Instagram, Messenger, Facebook, or other social networks)

Open the "Social" section.
Uncheck all links related to Facebook (e.g., m.facebook.com).
Validate and save!

💡 Depending on the app in question, there might be several URLs. Take your time to find them.

🛡️ What if My Rule Is in Strict Mode?

If your rule is in Strict Mode, you won't be able to edit it. In this case, we suggest checking out this article.

🔓 Issue 2: There's a Conflict With Another Screen Time App

To do this, you will need to choose between Jomo and the other screen time apps installed on your iPhone. As long as a rule is active on Jomo, you will need to remove any other restrictions on the app(s) from the other screen time app(s).

⚠️ Please note that this problem also works the other way around. If you have set a rule with a blocking by exclusion on that app, Jomo could cause a conflict. No one is spared!

🔘 Issue 3: A Setting In Screen Time Is Blocking Websites

Sometimes, you might have applied a filter in Screen Time or activated a setting that you’ve forgotten about, and it ends up blocking content. What to do in this case?

Go to your iPhone’s Settings, then "Screen Time"
Go to "Content & Privacy Restrictions"
You can disable everything by simply unchecking the "Content & Privacy Restrictions" option at the top of the screen. Otherwise...

🌐 For blocked websites:

Go to "App Store, Media, Web & Game"
Make sure the "Web Content" setting is set to "Unrestricted"

🍎 For blocked apps / App Store:

Go to "Allowed Apps & Features"
Ensure your apps are allowed

🛍️ For blocked app purchases or installations:

Go to "App Installations & Purchases"
Check that all options are set to "Allow"

🧒 Issue 4: You've Installed a MDM Profile (Parental Control) and It's Conflicting With Jomo

Less common, but it can happen: You’ve installed a parental control app (or someone has installed it on your iPhone), and it conflicts with Jomo. When you install a "Parental Control" app, it adds "MDM Profile" on your iPhone to impose restrictions. The issue is that this technology isn't compatible with other restrictions. The result? You can no longer access certain apps (including from the App Store), and you receive error messages when opening apps.

Here’s how to fix the problem:

Go to your iPhone settings
Go to "General" > "VPN & Device Management" > "MDM Profile"
Tap on "Remove Management"

⚠️ If this option is grayed out and you’re using a company-controlled phone, please contact your employer.

❌ The Problem Occurred AFTER I Uninstalled Jomo?

In that case, it's a different issue. We invite you to consult this article that should provide answers.
