Some apps are not blocked by Jomo

If your apps aren’t being blocked properly by Jomo, there could be a few different reasons. Before anything else, please double-check the following:

  1. That the apps are correctly selected in one of your rules in Jomo.
  2. That the blocking rule is currently in a Blocking status (Active Rule).

Force Restart Your iPhone / iPad

You can force restart your iPhone — don’t worry, it’s completely safe and just clears your device’s cache:

  1. Press and quickly release the Volume Up button.
  2. Press and quickly release the Volume Down button.
  3. Press and hold the Side button.
  4. When the Apple logo appears, release.

Reconnect Jomo to Screen Time

  1. Open this link from your iPhone or iPad.
  2. When Jomo asks for permission, tap Allow.
  3. Go to Rules > ?.
  4. Tap Reset Blocking.

Re-select the Apps to Block

  1. Open Jomo.
  2. Go to Rules.
  3. In your rule, tap Block.
  4. Deselect, then re-select your apps.
  5. Save.
  6. Check that the apps are now blocked.

Didn’t work? You can try again starting from step 2.

Deselect the Apps from Always Allowed

  1. Open Settings > Screen Time.
  2. Go to Always Allowed.
  3. Add the apps that aren’t being blocked.
  4. Fully close the Settings app.
  5. Reopen Settings > Screen Time > Always Allowed.
  6. Remove the apps that aren’t being blocked.
  7. Close Settings.
  8. Test if the blocking now works.

Still not working? Try reconnecting Jomo to Screen Time and force restarting your device as well.
