My screen time on Jomo is different from Apple's screen time

Unlike Screen Time, Jomo focuses solely on a more accurate screen time measurement, ignoring moments when you're not actively doing anything on your phone (for example, just checking your home screen).

Here’s how it works

  1. Apple starts counting screen time as soon as your iPhone screen is on even if you're not doing anything, it still counts.
  2. Jomo only tracks the time you actually spend using apps.

Why is there such a difference between Jomo and Screen Time?

Several reasons can explain the discrepancies

  1. Apple "smooths out" its screen time data. At the end of the day, they apply a correction to adjust inaccurate reporting. This correction isn't applied to the data sent to third-party apps.
  2. Apple includes "noises" that Jomo ignores (like time spent in settings, on the home screen, with the screen locked, etc.).
  3. Apple also tracks side activities without showing them explicitly — often background website activity (like analytics processes).

However, if you notice that Screen Time and Jomo are both showing inaccurate data, we recommend checking out our dedicated help article.

How can you exclude apps from your screen time?

  1. Open Jomo > Home.
  2. Tap > Excluded Apps.
  3. From the list, remove the apps you want to hide from your screen time.
  4. Tap Select.
