How To Fix Screen Time Issues?

In this article, you’ll find all the useful information you need about Screen Time issues: stuck reports, differences with Apple, incorrect limits, incorrect time in Squads, and more. We recommend taking your time and carefully following the instructions.

First, we’re sincerely sorry you’re experiencing Screen Time issues. Please know that our team is doing everything we can to make sure Jomo works properly.

What Should I Do If My Screen Time Doesn’t Appear?

Jomo gets its data directly from Screen Time. However, because the connection can be unstable, some information may stop syncing correctly, which can cause issues in several sections of Jomo.

Just joined and don’t see any data? That’s normal. When you download Jomo, you start from scratch. It’s a fresh start. Your data will appear gradually over time.

The Home Screen Keeps Loading:

  1. Open Jomo, then go to Home.
  2. Tap ↩︎.
  3. Tap Today at the top.
  4. Choose yesterday, then select Today again.

The Data Shown Is Incorrect:

  1. Open the iPhone Settings app.
  2. Go to Screen Time.
  3. Check that the update date is recent.
  4. Then tap All App & Website Activity.
  5. Check whether the data matches what appears in Jomo.
  6. If it doesn’t: go back to Screen Time.
  7. Tap Turn Off App & Website Activity, then turn it back on.

Please note: this may erase recent Screen Time data. Your Screen Time may therefore restart from zero.

What Should I Do If Jomo Shows Too Much Time or Duplicates Time on Some Apps?

This bug mostly affects devices running iOS 18. If possible, please update your iPhone to iOS 26.

Fix Duplicate or Excessive Screen Time:

  1. Open the iPhone Settings app.
  2. Go to Screen Time.
  3. Tap All App & Website Activity.
  4. Check whether the data matches what appears in Jomo.
  5. If it doesn’t: go back to Screen Time.
  6. Tap Turn Off App & Website Activity.
  7. Then force restart your iPhone.
  8. Reopen Settings.
  9. Go back to Screen Time and turn App & Website Activity back on.
  10. Restart your iPhone normally.
  11. Open Jomo, then go to Home.
  12. Tap ↩︎, and wait a few seconds.

Ignore These Apps from Today’s Screen Time:

  1. Open Jomo, then go to Home.
  2. Tap the problematic app.
  3. Tap Exclude from today.

If the issue persists, you can completely ignore this app by going to Home ▸  ▸ Excluded apps, selecting the app, then tapping Select.

What Should I Do If Apple’s Screen Time Is Different from Jomo’s?

Please note that Jomo’s Screen Time calculation method is different from Apple’s. Apple starts counting as soon as your iPhone screen is on. Jomo only counts time spent in apps.

Reasons for the differences:

  1. Apple smooths the data. If their report is incorrect at the end of the day, Apple applies a correction. This correction is not shared with third-party apps connected to Screen Time.
  2. Apple counts background or system apps that Jomo usually ignores, such as Settings and Home.
  3. Apple counts some background activity without showing it explicitly.

If you want to edit your report in Jomo, please follow the instructions above.

How to Fix Incorrect Time in Squads, Widgets, or Limits?

The connection to Screen Time is highly secure, and we cannot freely manipulate the data. For some features, Apple does not allow access to this data. Because of this, we created an alternative Screen Time calculation system called Estimated Screen Time.

Fix Estimated Screen Time That Is HIGHER Than the Real Time

  1. Open the iPhone Settings app.
  2. Go to Screen Time.
  3. Turn off Share Across Devices.

Please note that changes will take effect after 24 hours. If the issue persists, we recommend fully turning off Screen Time on your other devices.

Fix Estimated Screen Time That Is LOWER Than the Real Time

  1. Open Jomo.
  2. Go to Home ▸  ▸ Estimated screen time.
  3. Tap Refresh total time.
  4. If you excluded apps, tap Refresh excluded apps.

There’s no need to tap the buttons 20 times. These actions take about 5 minutes on average to run. Otherwise, Jomo may crash.

Reconnect Jomo to Screen Time

  1. Open this link on your iPhone.
  2. When Jomo shows the permission prompt, tap Allow.

How to Get Detailed Screen Time on iOS 16?

Since iOS 17, detailed Screen Time data is no longer sent to Jomo by Apple. As a result, we can no longer display this data. To fix this, we recommend updating your iPhone to a newer version of iOS.

Please note that blocking features are not affected. You still get the same blocking features as newer devices.
