Some apps are not blocked by Jomo
In this article, you’ll find all the information and guidance you need if your apps are not being blocked when they should be. Please read the instructions carefully.

If your apps aren’t being blocked properly by Jomo, there could be a few different reasons. Before anything else, please double-check the following:
- That the apps are correctly selected in one of your rules in Jomo.
- That the blocking rule is currently in a
Blockingstatus (Active Rule).
What Should I Do If an App Refuses to Block?
Reconnect Jomo to Screen Time:
- Open this link from your iPhone or iPad.
- When Jomo shows the permission prompt, tap Continue (Allow).
- Go to Rules, then tap ?.
- Tap Reset blocking.
Force Restart Your iPhone:
A force restart clears the device cache. It does not affect your data or performance.
- Quickly press Volume Up.
- Quickly press Volume Down.
- Press and hold the Side button.
- When the Apple logo appears, release it.

Reselect the Content to Block:
- Open Jomo.
- Go to Rules.
- Tap your rule.
- Tap the Block section.
- Deselect, then reselect your apps.
- Confirm by tapping ✓.
- Check whether the apps are now blocked.
If this doesn’t work, try the following method.
Deselect the Apps from Always Allowed:
- Go to the iPhone Settings app.
- Go to Screen Time, then Always Allowed.
- Add the apps that should be blocked.
- Fully close Settings.
- Reopen Settings ▸ Screen Time ▸ Always Allowed.
- Remove the apps that should be blocked.
- Fully close Settings.
- Check whether the apps are now blocked.

Check That Fewer Than 49 Websites or Apps Are Selected:
For technical reasons, Screen Time does not allow more than 49 websites and 49 apps to be selected at the same time. If several rules are running at the same time and block more than 49 items in total, only 49 items will be blocked.
If you are close to the limit:
- Reduce the number of items being blocked.
- Prefer selecting categories directly.
