How do I block an app based on my location?
It's not (yet) possible to do this directly from Jomo. So in the meantime, we'll be using a combo of Jomo and the Shortcuts application. This automation is very simple to set up and will only take you a few minutes (barely).
How does it work? The aim is to block or unblock an application when you arrive in a specific geographical area. For example, you might want to block e-mails when you're at home, or block your music application by default, but make it available only when you're at the gym.
The aim of the first tutorial is to block an application when you arrive at a specific location, and unblock it again when you leave.
Open Jomo, then go to Rules.
At the bottom, in the Templates section, press β Add then Session.
Customize the session according to your preferences & select the content to block
In the Duration section, choose the Always-On option.
Save your template
Open the Shortcuts application
Press Automations then Create a new automation or +.
In the list, press I'm on my way.
On the Location line, press Choose.
Choose the time interval you want the automation to run on
Tick Execute immediately.
Press Next.
Press New blank automation.
In the search bar, type Start Session and press the option
In the blue box Session template, press and select your template created earlier.
Press the blue chevron to display the options.
Uncheck Show When Run.
Confirm by pressing Finish.
Open the Shortcuts application
Press Automations, then Create new automation or +.
In the list, press Quit.
On the Location line, press Choose.
Choose the time interval on which you want the automation to run.
Select Execute immediately.

In the search bar, type Stop Session and press the option
In the blue box Session template, press and select your template created earlier.
Press the blue chevron to display the options.
Uncheck Show When Run.
Confirm by pressing Finish.
π‘ Thereβs a second option that only requires one shortcut (the first one). For example, if your activity always takes the same amount of time, like a workout at the gym, you can set a fixed duration in the Duration section (e.g., 30 minutes). After those 30 minutes, the session will automatically stop.
β
This second tutorial will enable you to unlock an application or site only if you arrive at a specific location. The procedure is slightly different from the previous one:
Open Jomo, then go to Rules.
At the bottom, press β, then Recurring Session.
Customize the session according to your preferences & select the content to block
In the Duration section, choose the Permanent** option.
Save your session
Open the Shortcuts application
Press Automations, then Create new automation or +.
In the list, press I quit.
On the Location line, press Choose.
Choose the time interval on which you wish the automation to run.
Select Execute immediately.
Press Next.
Press New blank automation.
In the search bar, type Pause Rule and press option
Next to Rule, in the blue box, press and select your previously created pause rule.
