What’s an NFC tag?


An NFC (Near Field Communication) tag is a small electronic device that stores data and can be read by NFC-enabled devices, like smartphones, when held close. These tags are available in all kinds of shapes and prices (stickers, key fobs, cards, plastic cases...).



Where can I get an NFC tag?


Use something you already own


  1. Work badge
  2. Bus or metro card
  3. Credit card
  4. Apple AirTag


Buy a dedicated NFC tag


  1. Stickers
  2. Cards
  3. Key fobs


Note: Only NFC tags labeled NTAG215 are readable by iPhones.



How to link my NFC tag to Jomo?


To Block/Unblock apps


  1. Open Jomo > Rules.
  2. Tap +
  3. Tap Action
  4. Choose Scan
  5. Scan: Select NFC Tag / Tag: Link your tag
  6. Unblock: Choose the apps to unlock with the tag & choose how strong the block should be
  7. Active: Set your desired duration
  8. Tap Schedule


To temporarily unblock your apps (Breaks)


  1. Open Jomo > Rules.
  2. Tap +
  3. Tap Recurring Session
  4. Block: Choose what you want to block & enable Breaks.
  5. Friction: Select Scan NFC Tag
  6. Active: Set your desired duration
  7. Tap Schedule
