How to set a daily screen time goal?

Want to learn more about screen time goals on Jomo? Read on!



On Jomo, you can set a screen time goal, which is the maximum amount of time you want to spend on your phone each day. You can track your remaining time for the day on the "Home" tab and through our dedicated widget.

The screen time goal is an excellent way to gradually reduce your screen time. Please note that it doesn't block your applications—it's designed to encourage you, not judge you, and it's fully customizable according to your needs and the days of the week.





🛠️ How do I set a goal?



To get started, go to Jomo's “Home” tab.

Click on the settings icon in the top right corner of the screen.
Then press “Screen Time Goals”.
Then simply tap on your current goal to change it.





🕐 Add multiple goals



Yes, not every day of the week is the same, and your screen time depends on your activities, of course. That's why we've anticipated this need by giving you the option of creating several different daily goals.

Press the small ➕ in front of “Active Goals”.
Choose the time, and the days on which you wish to activate it
Press “Add”, at the top right of the screen.





❌ Delete a goal



You don't want a goal anymore? No worries, just delete it.

Press on your goal
Then press “Delete” at the top left of your screen.





🤔 What budget should you choose to get started?



It's not easy to find the perfect amount of time, is it? To remedy this, we offer you a number of possibilities to find the goal that's right for you:

You have a lot of screen time: Start with your national average. You'll find it in Jomo's “Profile” section. Try to take 15 to 30 minutes off this average. This is already an excellent start.
You have a slightly high screen time: start from this time and subtract 15 to 30 min from it to begin with. Then adapt it as the weeks go by, taking off 5 or even 10 minutes, until you find a time that suits you.
You have little screen time: Use your current screen time as a reference point. Try not to exceed it and maintain it every day.

💡 The key is not to go too hard from the start: it's discouraging rather than the other way round! By putting in perhaps too much time at the start, you'll soon feel like you're making progress, and that will help you stick to your restrictions over the long term.





🔔 How can I be notified before I exceed my budget?



Would you like to be notified when you're about to exceed your budget or every X minutes? We'll tell you how:

On the “Home” tab, press the settings icon in the top-right corner of the screen.
Then press “Screen time goals”.
At the bottom, you have the section “Be notified”.

You have two different options: to be notified if you're close to your budget and/or to be notified every X minutes of phone use. To change the interval, simply press + / - (Note that 0 will disable notifications).
