How do Squads work on Jomo?

Have you heard about the new "Squads" feature on Jomo and are curious but unsure how it works? Let us explain!

Since October 2023, Jomo lets you share your screen time with those close to you. Whether it's family members, friends, colleagues, or a community, turn your screen time goal into a collective challenge! 🤝

🤔 How do Squads work?

Squads are like a scoreboard. Every day, the screen time you spend on your phone is displayed on a board alongside that of other participants. The goal is to have the least amount of screen time to become the leader of the day. In a second section, you'll find the weekly ranking — aim to have the least screen time most often to become the leader of the week. Finally, you'll see your Squad's position (average time per day) compared to the national average (based on the country your iPhone is set to).

➕ How to create a Squad?

Want to start reducing your screen time together with others? Here's how:

Go to the "Squads" tab
Tap the "➕" at the bottom of the screen
Then tap "Create a Squad"
Name it, customize it to your liking, and confirm!

Once the Squad is created, you’ll be the only member, so it’s time to invite others to join. To do so:

Tap on your newly created Squad
Tap on the card that says "Add your [Friends, Family, Colleagues] to [Squad Name] to see their screen time"
Share the invitation link via the messaging app of your choice
Wait for them to join!

🔗 How to join a Squad?

Someone close to you invited you to join their Squad, but you’re not sure how? Here’s how to join:

Tap on the link the person sent you
Jomo will open automatically and ask if you want to join the Squad; confirm.

✏️ How to edit your Squad?

Want to change the icon, the name, or even remove participants? Here’s how:

🔡 Change the name/emoji of the Squad

To change the name, follow these steps:

At the bottom of your Squad screen, tap the "Edit Squad" button
Change the name or emoji, then tap "Save" to confirm.

🙋 Remove members

To say goodbye to some members, here’s what to do:

⚠️ You must be the Squad creator to have this ability. If you were invited, you can only leave the group.

On the "Today" line, tap the "…"
Then tap the small red "➖" on the member's line.

➕ Add a member

Want to expand your Squad? Here’s how:

Tap the "➕" next to "Today"
OR tap "Add your [Friends, Family, Colleagues] to [Squad Name] to see their screen time."
