How do I block an app based on my location?
In this article, you’ll find all the useful information you need to set up app blocking based on your geographic location. We recommend taking your time and carefully following the instructions.

For this tutorial, you’ll also need the Shortcuts app, distributed for free by Apple through the App Store, if it isn’t already installed.
How to Block Apps Based on a Specific Location
How it works: when you arrive at the selected location, the apps will be blocked automatically and unblocked when you leave that address. This feature relies on your GPS location.
In Jomo
- Open Jomo.
- Tap Start blocking, then Block on a schedule.
- In Block, select the content you want to block.
- In Active, select Always-On.
- Confirm by tapping New Template.
In Shortcuts
- Open Shortcuts.
- Go to Automation, then New Automation.
- In the list, select Arrive.
- Tap Choose to choose an address.
- Select Any Time, or Time Range depending on your preferences.
- Select Run Immediately.
- Tap Next.
- Tap Create New Shortcut. On iOS 17-18: New Blank Automation.
- In search, type and select Start Session.
- In the blue rectangle, select the template you created earlier.
