How to block websites on your iPhone/iPad using Jomo?

Want to block websites with Jomo? We'll explain!

With Jomo, you can block not only apps, but also websites, on the browser of your choice. There are two different ways of doing this.

Do you want to block on all browsers? Go to Method 1.
Would you like to block Safari only? Go to Method 2.

🛠️ For technical reasons beyond our control, it is not possible to block more than 50 websites at the same time. If you're approaching this limit, we invite you to favor the most popular sites and remove the less popular ones.

By default, Jomo presents you with a selection screen. This only concerns sites consulted on Safari and apps installed on your phone. The advantage of this method is that you can add any site you like, no need to have visited it recently.

To block content on all your browsers, go to advanced options.

Open your blocking rule
Press “Apps & Site webs”.
At the bottom of the screen, click on “Options and additional websites”.
In the “Website” section, type your website's URL, then press “Add”.
Confirm!

Note that with this method, private browsing will be disabled as long as the rule is active and blocking content.

⚠️ This method is not compatible with the “Limit” category of rules. Why not? Jomo is not able to track time spent on websites via browsers external to Apple. Only Safari communicates this information. If you wish to add a time limit to a website, please use Method 2.

🍎 Method 2: How do I block sites on Safari?

To block websites on Safari, it works in the same way as for apps. Just search & find your site from the list and press to add it.

Open your blocking rule by clicking on it
Press the section “Apps & Websites”.
Select the site of your choice from the list (Doesn't appear? Use the search bar at the top to find it. Still not ? Use Method 1)

⚠️ Please note that if you select domains such as amazon.com or facebook.com, this may block related applications such as Messenger, Prime and so on. To prevent this from happening, we recommend that you block these specific sites using Method 1.
