How to Automate Jomo with Shortcuts and Siri?
In this article, you’ll find all the useful information you need about Shortcuts and Automations: how to create them, manage them, and a few practical ideas. We recommend taking your time and carefully following the instructions.

Jomo integrates fully and exclusively with Shortcuts, a free app distributed by Apple.
How to Create an Automation or Shortcut?
- Go to the App Store and download the Shortcuts app for free.
How to Block Apps with Shortcuts?
For any shortcut you create, you first need to create a compatible rule template in Jomo.
- Open Jomo.
- Go to Rules, then tap Start blocking.
- Tap Block on a schedule.
- In the Block section, choose the content you want to block.
- In the Active section, choose Always-On.
- Confirm by tapping New template.

Block Apps When Battery Is Low:
- Open Shortcuts.
- Go to Automation, then tap New Automation.
- In the list, select Battery Level.
- Drag the slider to 20%, then check Run Immediately.
- Tap Next.
- Tap Create New Shortcut. On iOS 17-18: New Blank Automation.
- In search, type Start Session and select it.
- In the blue field, select your created template.
- Tap the blue chevron, then turn off Show When Run.
- Confirm by tapping ✓ / Done.
To stop the session: create a second automation. This time, in step 4, set it to 80%. Then in step 7, type and select Stop Session.

Block Apps Only at Work or at Home:
- Open Shortcuts.
- Go to Automation, then tap New Automation.
- In the list, select Wi-Fi.
- Tap Choose to choose the Wi-Fi network.
- Check Is Joined and Run Immediately.
- Tap Next.
- Tap Create New Shortcut. On iOS 17-18: New Blank Automation.
- In search, type and select Start Session.
- In the blue field, select your created template.
- Tap the blue chevron, then turn off Show When Run.
- Confirm by tapping ✓ / Done.
To stop the session: create a second automation. This time, in step 5, select Is Disconnected. Then in step 8, type and select Stop Session.

Block Apps for 10 Minutes When You Wake Up:
- Open Shortcuts.
- Go to Automation, then New Automation.
- In the list, choose Sleep.
- Select Waking Up and Run Immediately.
- Tap Next.
- Tap Create New Shortcut. On iOS 17-18: New Blank Automation.
- In search, type and select Start Session.
- In the blue field, select your created template.
- Tap the blue chevron, then turn off Show When Run.
- Tap Use Template’s Timing and select Duration.
- Next to your template name, change the duration to 10 minutes.
- Confirm by tapping ✓ / Done.

Block or Unblock Apps with an NFC Tag:
- Open Shortcuts.
- Go to Automation, then New Automation.
- Select NFC.
- Tap Scan to pair a tag.
- Check Run Immediately, then tap Next.
- Tap Create New Shortcut. On iOS 17-18: New Blank Automation.
- In search, type and select Start Session.
- In the blue field, select your created template.
- Tap the blue chevron, then turn off Show When Run.
- Tap Use Template’s Timing and select Duration.
- Next to your template name, change the duration to 10 minutes.
- Confirm by tapping ✓ / Done.
To unblock apps: add the Stop Blocking action in step 7.

Block Apps After an Apple Pay Payment:
- Open Shortcuts.
- Go to Automation, then New Automation.
- In the list, select Wallet.
- Select your payment card and the purchase categories you want, then make sure Run Immediately is checked at the bottom.
- Tap Next.
- Tap Create New Shortcut. On iOS 17-18: New Blank Automation.
- In search, type and select Start Session.
- In the blue field, select your created template.
- Tap the blue chevron, then turn off Show When Run.
- Tap Use Template’s Timing and select Duration.
- Next to your template name, change the duration to your preferred duration.
- Confirm by tapping ✓ / Done.
If you block a delivery service, especially food delivery, make sure to allow a short break of less than one minute so you can check your order status. Notifications will not be delivered once blocking is active.

Block Apps at Bedtime:
- Open Shortcuts.
- Tap Automation, then New Automation.
- In the list, select Time of Day.
- Select Sunset, then At Sunset.
- Check Run Immediately.
- Tap Next.
- Tap Create New Shortcut. On iOS 17-18: New Blank Automation.
- In search, type and select Start Session.
- In the blue field, select your created template.
- Tap the blue chevron, then turn off Show When Run.
- Confirm by tapping ✓ / Done.
To stop the session: create a second automation. In step 4, select Sunrise, then in step 8, select Stop Session.

Block Apps While Driving:

- Open Shortcuts.
- Go to Automation, then New Automation.
- In the list, select CarPlay.
- Select Is Connected, then check Run Immediately.
- Tap Next.
- Tap Create New Shortcut. On iOS 17-18: New Blank Automation.
- In search, type and select Start Session.
- In the blue field, select your created template.
- Tap the blue chevron, then turn off Show When Run.
- Confirm by tapping ✓ / Done.
To stop the session: create a second automation. In step 4, select Is Disconnected, then in step 8, select Stop Session.
