How do I create a rule template to use in Shortcuts?


  1. Open Jomo > Rules.
  2. Tap + > Recurring Session.
  3. Under Block: choose what to block. Under Active: set to Always-On. Under Difficulty: pick your preferred level.
  4. Tap Add to Templates.

How do I block an app when my battery is low?


  1. Open Shortcuts.
  2. Go to Automations.
  3. Tap Create New Automation.
  4. From the list, choose Battery Level.
  5. Drag the slider to 20%.
  6. Tap Falls Below 20%.
  7. Select Run Immediately.
  8. Tap Next.
  9. Tap Create New Shortcut (iOS 17/18: New Blank Automation).
  10. In the search bar, type Start Session.
  11. Tap the blue block and select your template.
  12. Tap the blue chevron.
  13. Turn off Show When Run.
  14. Tap the blue tick to confirm (iOS 17/18: Done).


To stop the session, create a second automation using Above 80% in step 5 and Stop Session in step 10.



How do I block apps at work or at home?


  1. Open Shortcuts.
  2. Go to Automations.
  3. Select Wi-Fi.
  4. Tap Choose, then select your Wi-Fi network.
  5. Check Network Joined and Run Immediately.
  6. Tap Next.
  7. Tap Create New Shortcut (iOS 17/18: New Blank Automation).
  8. In the search bar, type Start Session.
  9. Tap the blue block and select your template.
  10. Tap the blue chevron.
  11. Turn off Show When Run.
  12. Tap the blue tick to confirm (iOS 17/18: Done).


To stop the session, create a second automation using Left in step 5 and Stop Session in step 8.



How do I block apps 10 minutes after waking up?


  1. Open Shortcuts.
  2. Go to Automations.
  3. Select Sleep.
  4. Choose Wake Up.
  5. Check Run Immediately.
  6. Tap Next.
  7. Tap Create New Shortcut (iOS 17/18: New Blank Automation).
  8. In the search bar, type Start Session.
  9. Tap the blue block and select your template.
  10. Tap the blue chevron.
  11. Turn off Show When Run.

How do I block/unblock apps with an NFC tag?

  4. Tap Scan, then scan your NFC tag.

How do I block apps after an Apple Pay transaction?

  4. Choose the payment card used with Apple Pay.

If you're blocking after a food delivery order, consider adding a short pause (–1 min) to still receive the delivery notification.



How do I automatically block apps at bedtime?

  4. Choose a time or tap Sunset.
  5. Check Run Immediately.
  6. Tap Next.
  7. Tap Create New Shortcut (iOS 17/18: New Blank Automation).
  8. In the search bar, type Start Session.
  9. Tap the blue block and select your template.
  10. Tap the blue chevron.
  11. Turn off Show When Run.

To stop the session, create a second automation using Sunrise in step 4 and Stop Session in step 8.



How do I automatically block apps when driving?

  1. Open Shortcuts.
  2. Go to Automations.
  3. Select CarPlay.
  4. Choose Connects.
  5. Tap Create New Shortcut (iOS 17/18: New Blank Automation).
  6. In the search bar, type Start Session.
  7. Tap the blue block and select your template.
  8. Tap the blue chevron.
  9. Turn off Show When Run.
  10. Tap the blue tick to confirm (iOS 17/18: Done).


To stop the session, create a second automation using Disconnects in step 4 and Stop Session in step 6.
