# How to set a daily screen time goal?

The Screen Time Goal is a guide to help you gradually reduce your phone usage. *It’s only indicative*—think of it as a gentle reminder. **It will never block access to your phone or any installed **apps. **If your apps are blocked**, please check your rules in the `Rules` section.

# **I’m lost. What budget should I set?**

To make it easier to stick with your goal, we suggest choosing a reasonable value that’s not too far from your current usage. The idea is to reduce it gradually until you reach a level you're happy with. For example, you can start by lowering it by 15 to 30 minutes per day in the first week. Then by 1 hour the next week, and so on.
