# How To Block Apps on My iPhone Using Focus Modes?

In this article, you’ll find all the useful information you need about Focus Modes and their integration with Jomo: linking a Session to a Focus Mode, automatically starting a Session when a Focus Mode turns on, and syncing rules across devices. This tutorial has two steps. Please pay close attention to the details, as they can have a major impact on whether Jomo works properly.

**Add a Rule Template to Launch:**

1. Open **Jomo**.
2. Tap **Start blocking**, then **Block on a schedule**.
3. In **Block**, choose the content you want to block.
4. In **Active**, choose **Always-on**.
5. Confirm by tapping **New template**.

**Link the Template to the Focus Mode:**

1. Open the iPhone **Settings** app.
2. Go to **Focus**.
3. Choose your **Focus Mode**.
4. At the bottom, tap **Add filter**.
5. Choose **Jomo**, then select your **Template**.
6. Confirm by tapping **Add**.

**On Mac:**

Remember to create the Template in your Jomo Mac app as well for this to work.

1. Open **System Settings**.
2. Click **Focus**.
3. Click your **Focus Mode**.
4. At the bottom, click **Add filter**.
5. Choose **Jomo**, then select your **Template**.
6. Confirm by clicking **Add**.

When you’re in your Focus Mode, make sure to turn on **Share Across Devices** so they activate at the same time.

1. Open the iPhone **Settings** app.
2. Tap **Start Session** at the bottom.
3. Then tap **Delete Filter**, then **Delete Filter** again.
